How does it all work, well its quite easy
really. The Zone is a web based application that can be accessed by any
modern computer or Mac as long as it is connected to the internet.
You will need Internet Explorer 6 or above or any other recent internet
browser. The only extra you may need is Microsoft Silverlight which is a
free download and is similar in nature to adobe flash player.

Take a video clip of you or the action of the player that
you are working with then upload it into your personal analyse
section of the Zone. The Zone will accept any format of video
clip so you can use your mobile phone, iphone, video camera,
flip camera, Blackberry or any mobile device. Clips uploaded in
this section are only seen by you, the unique user. |

Once uploaded into the analyse section you will have full access
to range of analytical tools. You can play the action in slow
motion or nudge forwards or backwards frame by frame, you can
even flip the video around to make you left hander's right
hander's or vice versa if that helps you accurately analyse the
performance.
You can draw on the screen with a variety
of tools, write text on the screen and even accurately measure
distance. If you make a mistake don't worry as you can undo each
annotation one at a time or all altogether.
You can also extract individual frames from your video complete
with your annotations and analysis then download the frames back
on to your PC to create reports or records for you to share or
refer back to at a later date.

If you wanted to discuss your action clip, when you upload
the file you will have the option to share it with whoever you
wish to share it with before you upload it. Don't worry if you
have uploaded a clip then decide to share it, as the Zone also
allows you to do this later on. Just create a discussion. |

With your clip shared and in the discussion section of the Zone
you are now in a position to give or receive on line coaching or
advice on your technique. You still have access to all the
annotation tools but you also have a discussion board to type in
your comments, remarks or recommendations. If the other Zone
members that you have shared you clip with are also on line at
the same time as you, then you can give or receive a 'live'
on line coaching session, you can be miles apart but joined up
in the Zone!
Club Coaches have used the discussion room as a powerful
mentoring tool also, if you are a coach and are not sure if you
are giving the correct advice then why not invite a more
qualified coach into your discussion to seek their guidance?

How much does all this cost?
For a one year subscription for each user the price is £47 inclusive.
Less than a £1 a week for a web based application that would put
many far more expensive desk top applications to shame. Each user gets
4gb of disc space, extra storage is charged at .32p per GB or part of. |
