ECB-Sports Mentoring works with the ECB in many
capacities.
- Data capture - ECB launched it's
data
capture program 3 years ago, this is a initiative where
all first class counties video record every ball bowled in
first class cricket, then record the 'events' of that ball, i.e.
where it pitched, what shot the batsman played, where the ball
went, was there any runs, who fielded it and how accurate the
throw was etc. From this data all kinds of outcomes can be
analysed for both batting and bowling sides. Scoring graphs
for teams and individual batters, pitch maps for bowlers,
video evidence for analysis etc can all be drawn from this
captured data. Sports Mentoring have worked closely with the
ECB IT team in the research and development of this program
and will continue to assist in the future. Any clubs or sides interested
in using this technology to help their game can contact Sports
Mentoring, data can be captured from match or practice
situations.
- ECB Coach Education - Sports Mentoring oversee the running
of the Essex CCB coach education
program. Pete Williams, the 'founder' of Sports Mentoring
works with the ECB in the role of Field Based Trainer and
Internal Verifier, working with ECB coach education tutors to
assist them in reaching the standards laid down by the ECB and
ensuring that the delivery of coach education programs are
meeting the standards set by 1st4Sport. Pete is a L3 coach, L3
Tutor and L3 assessor in coach education.
